Cognova Consulting, Inc., is founded on the philosophy that learning is the core competency for all development. We help you transform the way you think, feel and act. With a wealth of personal and organizational experience, Cognova Coaches engage emergent leaders in self and organizational transformational development.
Marie L. Loscavio Ed.D.
She is truly a light in the world. Marie is driven by one passion - to live in light and love and help others connect with the essence of their being. Marie, a consulting psychologist, is the founder of Cognova and the Cognova Aware Leader Institute. She works with ease and grace with leaders individually and in groups world-wide calling on a diverse, integrated expertise in coaching and teaching. Marie holds a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Boston University along with numerous certifications. Nestled in the stillness of the mountains, Marie lives a contemplative life occasionally disturbed by the demands of her cheerful Bichon Frise, aptly named Spirit.
Laura A. Hahn, M.S., M.A.
Laura's inner stillness, a great strength, infuses those with whom she works with a courage to explore deeply. With poise and the utmost compassion, she gently guides leaders to see what they most need to see about themselves. Before her dedication to The Work of Cognova, she hailed from the executive suites of several major manufacturing corporations where she honed extensive technical and organizational expertise. Laura has bachelor's and master's degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois, and more recently a master's degree in Counseling Psychology. When not entwined in the world of books or tending to her garden and actively birding, she's wandering off-road with her husband or delighting in her grandchildren.
Kim Gurnett
Kim, with a deeply sensitive and keenly observant nature, engages in a delicate and yet powerful manner. Relying on a vast inner perception, she has an uncanny ability to examine many levels and bring forward seemingly obscure data for examination. Many have been witness to Kim’s well-placed questions that can turn a discussion on its head and highlight the most pressing issue at hand. Kim joins Cognova with a wealth of corporate leadership expertise. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in Economics from SUNY, Potsdam and a masters of business administration from University of Rochester Simon Business School. Kim can often be found deep in the woods camping or hiking, or when closer to home curled up with a good book with her beloved dogs resting at her feet. She resides in Honeoye Falls, NY with her husband and not far from her adult children.
Marten Niner
Marten is gifted with a natural aptitude for servant leadership born out of his deep care for others. Now an ICF certified professional coach Marten joins Cognova with a background as diverse as his interests. Serving in a broad range of industries from high tech farming and military weaponry to environmental chemistry, he is lauded for his resourcefulness and versatility in serving others. He earned a bachelor's of science degree from Arizona State University in Marketing. Active in the arts as well, Marten has served on the Board of Directors of non-profit organizations including Dance Motion, Valley Youth Theatre and as a gifted musician, can be found entertaining weekend crowds.
Dana Rutland
Spirited, and unmistakenly Spirit-led, Dana is known to approach even the most difficult situations with unparalleled grace and aplomb. Adept in the art of human relationships and leader development, Dana has a broad breadth and depth of executive leadership and coaching experiences. In her most recent position as V.P. Human Resources for a company manufacturing engineered products, Dana was instrumental in business turn-arounds and developing others to promotability to key roles. Many call her an inspiring mentor, and perhaps more importantly, a true friend. Residing in the great state of Texas and with a Texas-worthy largess, Dana tirelessly attends to the needs of those she serves. She holds degrees from Texas A&M, Texarkana (B.B.A.) and LeTourneau University (M.B.A.) and has certification in executive coaching from the University of Texas at Dallas. Her pride and joy are her 3 delightful daughters. When not on a ski slope, or a golf range, she enjoys lounging on the white sands of Destin beaches with her husband and girls.
Michelle Gann
With a boundless resourcefulness, Michelle makes light work of even the most daunting tasks. Renowned for her designer's eye, she has a way of transforming the mundane into beauty. Counted on for just about anything to support us in The Work, Michelle has been dear to Cognova since the early days. Now with coaching credentials, Michelle joins in The Work more actively helping individuals in coaching. Michelle a fun-loving adventurer at heart, resides near the ocean with her young family and can often be found engaging in water activities and other energetic family fun.
Cindy Usry
Cindy is highly endorsed for keeping businesses running smoothly. With a wealth of experience in telecommunications, her attention to detail and enthusiastic concern for operational excellence drive her to double-check one more time. Cindy juggles all the behind-the-scene activities at Cognova to ensure and promote a relaxed, peaceful environment for all who visit. Always willing to lend a hand, she has a long history of community volunteer activities. Cindy resides in a mountain resort with her husband, but is most at home sipping a cool drink on an island beach somewhere in the world.
